South Florida Schools Remain Closed Due To Hurricane Helene

Miami, FL – School districts across South Florida have decided to keep their campuses closed on Thursday as Hurricane Helene impacts the state.

Miami-Dade Public Schools and Broward County Public Schools initially announced that schools would remain open on Thursday. However, Broward County Public Schools later reversed their decision, announcing that their schools would be closed due to the changing weather conditions.

Miami-Dade Public Schools has stated that outdoor activities will be held indoors, while outdoor athletic events will be canceled.

After-school care programs and evening classes will operate as normal.

The Palm Beach County School District has also announced the closure of all district-operated schools and offices on Thursday.

Additionally, all extracurricular activities, after-school programs, sports, school meetings, and other on-campus events have been canceled.

Monroe County School District has likewise announced the closure of schools and district offices on Thursday.
