Miami Based Medical Transport Company Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

In another shakeup in the healthcare industry, MB Medical Transport, LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on October 13, 2024. The case is being heard in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida, with Judge Robert A. Mark initially overseeing it before being reassigned to Judge Corali Lopez-Castro (Case No. 24-20587).

What’s Going On?

MB Medical Transport, based in Miami, Florida, is a company providing essential medical transportation services. Filing for Chapter 11 means the company is trying to restructure its debts while staying operational. This isn’t a total shutdown, but rather an attempt to reorganize and get things back on track.

According to the petition, the company lists assets in the $0-$50K range, but its liabilities are much higher, between $100 million and $500 million. That’s a significant gap, which is why they’re seeking the court’s protection to figure out how to settle their debts. Creditors, including non-governmental ones, need to file their claims by December 23, 2024, while the deadline for government claims is April 11, 2025.
