Taylor Swift has come under a gentle fire for the handwritten note she had hand-delivered by her brother, Austin Swift , to Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy at an Oct. 19 Eras Tour show in Miami—but not for the reasons folks might think.
The social media personality is a controversial figure, having been accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct . Portnoy also has a history of misogynistic “humor” and sexist attacks against women working in sports media . However, the scrutiny didn’t stem from Portnoy’s identity, but from the appearance of what appears to be a hastily written letter—specifically, Swift’s handwriting.

Written on her iconic personal letterhead , which reads “from the desk of TAYLOR SWIFT” at the top and “SONGWRITER/ FELINE ENTHUSIAST ” at the bottom, Swift’s note says, “Dave, I’m so happy to have you at the show tonight! I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t. I hope you have a blast tonight!! Love, Taylor.”
