Billionaire Wants To Build $500 Million FL Development Project With Affordable Housing, Recreation

Some Floridians know that there are billionaires who call the Sunshine State home who use their resources to do good works to help their communities. I’ve written about Ken Griffin donating around $300 million to various Florida organizations since moving here in 2022. I’ve also reported on the billionaire Ansin family proposing a huge mixed-use development with millions for affordable housing. And now, a company reportedly owned by billionaire Juan Carlos Mas is proposing a massive project in Miami-Dade County that will include affordable housing and recreation.

About The Project In Question: Landmark QOZB Construction LLC is owned by billionaire Juan Carlos Mas who, according to Forbes, is worth approximately $2.8 billion. Landmark QOZB Construction reportedly wants to take over a land lease on 146.8 acres near Miami Gardens at 20000 N.W. 47th Avenue for a huge $500 million mixed-use development.

The development would reportedly include 1,000 workforce housing units, 20 acres of recreation (including sports facilities,) a 25,000-square-foot community center, and retail spaces and hotel rooms.
