Coral Springs China Star restaurant receives 19 violations in Broward County, FL

The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation cited China Star in Coral Springs for 19 violations during a December 3, 2024 inspection. The restaurant at 1430 Coral Ridge Drive received four high-priority violations requiring a follow-up review.

The Broward County establishment, which is rated 4.2 stars from only 13 Google reviews, showed multiple food handling and storage issues. The inspection revealed four high-priority violations, three intermediate violations, and twelve basic violations, with several corrected during the visit.

State records revealed that hand-washing practices appeared among the primary issue, with employees washing without soap and for short time periods. Food storage violations included uncooked chicken placed above ready-to-eat sauces in the walk-in cooler, and uncooked chicken stored over uncooked beef in the freezer.

Temperature management issues emerged when fried chicken was found cooling at room temperature instead of approved cooling methods. Among the other Intermediate violations, the inspection also noted expired employee food safety training certifications and unmarked prepared foods held over 24 hours.
