MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — Twenty-three years after her disappearance, the family of missing 15-year-old Yansis Juarez is ignited with hope that a new age-progression image will spark recognition and bring them one step closer to figuring out what happened on that fateful day.
Yansis was last seen leaving her home in Miami on May 5, 2002. Two weeks later, her family received a letter in their mailbox supposedly written by Yansis saying she “no longer wanted to live at home,” according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) .
NCMEC released a new image Monday depicting what Yansis may look like today, at 38 years old.
