Woman in St. Lucie County jail for stealing more than $2,700 of baby formula

ST. LUCIE COUNTY – A Fort Lauderdale woman, who law enforcement investigators have dubbed the “Baby Food Bandit” and is believed to be responsible for a series of baby formula thefts from St. Lucie County stores remains in St. Lucie County jail on no bond for retail theft

According to St. Lucie County sheriff’s reports, Marnisha Janeese Sims, 27, was arrested on May 23 in connection with multiple thefts from Publix stores in St. Lucie County.

Between April 23 and April 25, Sims is alleged to have stolen 60 cans of Enfamil; 24 cans of Similac; and 18 cans of Nutramigen, with the total value exceeding $2,769, according to sheriff’s office reports. During the investigation, detectives discovered that Sims may also be linked to similar thefts in neighboring jurisdictions…
