Thrown into the ocean, pregnant cat lives up to her new name

BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — A pregnant cat was found floating one mile offshore in the ocean over Memorial Day weekend — an unthinkable situation that could have ended in tragedy if not for a timely rescue.

Tri-County Animal Rescue in Boca Raton reported that the young cat was discovered struggling in the open water, having been discarded in an unthinkable act.

Thanks to a compassionate person who spotted her and took action, the cat — now named Survivor — was rescued and brought to safety. She is currently recovering at the Lois Pope Pet Clinic at Tri-County Animal Rescue, where she is receiving the care and compassion she was previously denied, the release stated…
