The investigation into exactly what led a Florida rapper to his untimely death is still underway, but according to his music manager, it all could’ve been prevented. Now, he’s speaking up on behalf of Newage Jerkboy after a violent interaction with police ended with his death.

Stories aren’t quite matching up between the 29-year-old rapper’s manager and Broward officials still investigating the matter. It all started when police responded to a shooting in progress involving Jerkboy, whose real name is Cornelius Better. Although details surrounding the altercation haven’t been released to the public, Better’s manager gave his account on what went down.

According to him, the cops were called because an unnamed assailant started shooting at Better in Fort Lauderdale. But instead of assisting Better, the alleged victim, a brief shootout between authorities and the rapper soon broke out…
