A conman impersonating a Coconut Creek Police sergeant has been phoning residents as part of a scam, the police department said Tuesday.
“He’s telling folks they missed a court date, and officers are coming to arrest them unless they pay an immediate fine,” the department said on social media.
“Of course, the scammers say they’ll take payment over the phone,” police wrote. “We would never call anyone and threaten to take them to jail over some unpaid fine.”…
