Man arrested for unprovoked bus attack on elderly passenger in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Broward detectives say they’ve arrested a suspect in connection with the unprovoked attack on an elderly bus rider.

33-year-old Maurice Bradwell was taken into custody on Friday just blocks from the scene of the crime, near the 200 block of North Powerline Road in Pompano Beach. He is facing a count of aggravated battery on a person 65 years or older and a count of aggravated robbery.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Pompano Beach District, Bradwell was arrested for the March 5 attack on an elderly man on a bus near the 600 block of Southwest 12th Avenue in Pompano Beach. At around noon, the elderly victim was sitting alone peacefully when Bradwell posed to hit him and began cursing at him for unknown reasons…
