The City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department is proud to announce that it is the first law enforcement agency in the state of Florida to implement a fully operational, non-beta Drone as First Responder (DFR) program in partnership with Skydio and Axon – leaders in autonomous drone and public safety technology.
Through this cutting-edge program, the Department is deploying NDAA-compliant American-made Skydio X10 drones to enhance emergency response and improve situational awareness in real time. In addition, drone charging and deployment hives, known as “Docks”, will be strategically placed to enable officers to respond to most calls in less than 2 minutes, at any time, and in most weather conditions.
