‘I stand my ground’: Man says he stabbed South Florida mail carrier in self-defense

BISCAYNE PARK, Fla. — The man suspected of stabbing a mail carrier in the quiet suburb of Biscayne Park on Monday afternoon walked out of the village’s police headquarters Wednesday a free man.

The man, initially detained and then released, briefly spoke to Local 10 News after being questioned by investigators Wednesday. He claims he acted in self-defense after a traffic altercation with the longtime postal worker, identified as Eugene Mason, saying the mailman attacked him.
