COVID cases on the rise in South Florida as kids prepare to return to school

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — COVID-19 cases are on the rise across South Florida as kids are just days away from heading back to school.

State health data shows positive cases across Miami-Dade and Broward counties jumped more than 50 percent from June to July.

“It’s spreading like any other cold or flu, and patients are coming in, you know, in the middle of the summer with cold and flu symptoms, which again, simply out of cold and flu season, and we’re seeing a lot more people test positive for that,” Memorial Regional Hospital Medical Director Dr. Adam Rubin said…
