Walgreens Workers Rush to Aid Woman During Alleged Racial Parking Lot Attack

Quick action by Walgreens employees may have prevented a violent attack after police say a man yelling racial slurs followed a woman into the store’s parking lot, threatened to kill her, and tried multiple times to force her car door open.

According to a Coral Springs Police Department arrest affidavit, the incident occurred on the night of July 12 at the Walgreens located at 11750 West Sample Road. The victim, who was working as an Instacart shopper, told investigators she noticed a vehicle swerve in front of her while she was driving south on Coral Ridge Drive.

When she pulled into the Walgreens lot to fulfill an order, the same car followed her in. A man, later identified by police as Troy Laflam, 52, of Coral Springs, allegedly got out of the suspicious vehicle and walked toward the victim’s car before allegedly pulling on her driver’s side door multiple times, partially opening it while threatening to kill her and hurling racial slurs…
