A man who shot himself Saturday afternoon in Cooper City was later shot at by a Broward Sheriff’s deputy who was sent to help him, authorities said. He later died from his injuries.
Around 12 p.m., a 911 call reported a man had shot himself near the 10200 block of Griffin Road, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed over and found the unidentified injured man. It’s unclear where the man shot himself.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy approached the man to try to help him, and that’s when the man attacked the deputy, who then fired his gun. It’s unclear if the deputy shot him or missed…
