MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A quick-thinking deputy and a coordinated effort between local law enforcement and federal agents led to the arrest of two men on Friday, following a migrant landing in Tavernier. The arrests stem from an incident on Thursday when a group of migrants arrived by sea, and a vehicle was spotted picking them up.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy saw a vehicle picking up individuals believed to be migrants who had just landed in the area.
