The Connecticut Board of Examiners for Nursing last week suspended another nurse accused of obtaining a degree fraudulently from a Florida school whose former director is now under federal indictment, officials said.
Olga Rene will not be able to practice medicine as a nurse, until at least a hearing will be held to determine if she has enough credits and clinical hours to practice nursing in the state of Connecticut, state officials said.
Rene obtained her license to practice as a nurse in Connecticut in October 2024, roughly two years after federal authorities executed a massive crackdown on for-profit nursing schools, primarily in Florida, who were issuing degrees without providing the required amount of classroom and clinical instruction, according to state Department of Public Health documents…
