Davie middle school custodian arrested after cocaine found on campus, cops say

DAVIE, Fla. — A custodian who also served as head of facilities at Indian Ridge Middle School in Davie was arrested last week after authorities said a bag of cocaine was discovered inside the school.

Davie police identified the employee as 63-year-old Edward Berg, who was taken into custody Sept. 26 on a charge of cocaine possession.

According to an arrest report, the school’s assistant principal and a security guard found a small plastic bag containing a white powdery substance on the floor of the main hallway. A field test confirmed it was cocaine, weighing nearly one gram…
