A routine Coral Springs traffic stop has led to the arrest of a heavily armed man accused of trafficking large quantities of the highly dangerous drug fentanyl.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department arrest report, on September 25, officers observed a black Chevrolet Avalanche parked at a Mobil gas station on West Atlantic Boulevard. A records check showed the registered owner, identified as Ryan Eugene Cohee, 42, of Davie, had a suspended driver’s license.
When Cohee drove off, records show law enforcement initiated surveillance and later clocked the vehicle at 46 mph in a 40 mph zone. A traffic stop followed near Southgate Boulevard and Pine Island Road.
Officers reported the smell of cannabis and reported seeing a burning joint in plain view. Cohee admitted to having medical marijuana but did not produce a valid card, police said…
