Husband Pleads Not Guilty, Asks to Remove GPS Monitor After Wife’s Mysterious Death in Coral Springs

A man charged with domestic battery after his wife was found dead in a canal near their Coral Springs home pleaded not guilty last week, court records show.

Jeffrey Ernest Evans II, 43, who remains under investigation in the mysterious Aug. 25 death of his 38-year-old wife, Jessica Lloyd, has also asked a judge to remove him from a pre-trial electronic monitoring program that mandates his wearing of a GPS ankle monitor, according to court filings.

Formerly a lieutenant with Davie Fire Rescue, Evans is currently free from jail on a $1,000 bond. As part of his pretrial release agreement, he’s required to remain in his home 24 hours a day unless otherwise approved by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Division of Pretrial Services staff…
