Miami Northwestern student beaten with Stanley cup, trumpet in restroom: officials

A brawl in a Miami-Dade high school restroom Monday morning ended with one teen girl hospitalized after being hit with a Stanley cup water bottle and a trumpet — and another jailed for attacking her, according to school police.

At around 11 a.m., school officers responded to reports of a fight at Miami Northwestern High School, located at 1100 NW 71st St. An officer arrived to see a school security guard helping a student, who was leaking blood from her forehead, to the main office.

A 15-year-old, whom the Miami Herald is not naming due to her age, told police that the wounded girl started the altercation by hitting her friend in the restroom first, per the teen’s arrest paperwork. She added her friend defended herself by striking the girl back with a Stanley cup, police say…
