Fort Lauderdale man jumps into river after committing armed carjacking in Central Florida, deputies say

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A Fort Lauderdale man is accused of an armed carjacking in Central Florida.

Volusia County deputies say 34-year-old Grant Hagood-James ordered a victim out of his car at gunpoint Monday night, and then took off with the car.

The carjacking led to a chase, and deputies say Hagood-James ditched the car and then tried to escape by jumping into a river…
