2 Florida officers shot, armed suspect contained in Miami, reports say

MIAMI — Two Miami police officers were shot while responding to an armed suspect on Thursday morning, according to multiple news outlets.

CBS Miami reported that Chief Manny Morales said officers were initially dispatched just before 7 a.m. in the Allapattah area in reference to a car that looked abandoned. Moments later, officers received a gunfire alert nearby and responded to a home.

Officers found a car with bullet holes, and gunfire broke out. Two officers were shot, one in the knee and the other in the ankle, according to the outlet. Morales said they were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
