First Six V-10 Outboard Deep Impact 499 And New 449 Close To Complete For Fort Lauderdale Show

Flat out and nonstop—that’s the best way to describe general manager Eugene Uriarte and his crew at Deep Impact Custom Boats in Opa-Locka, Fla., as they prepare for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat at the end of month. It’s an important event for the company with the debut its first 449 model center console. The Deep Impact team is just finishing paint for the 45-footer powered by five—and it can accommodate six—Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines.

So the factory is humming.

A first for Deep Impact and likely the entire center-console segment, the most recent 499 will be powered by six Mercury Marine V-10 outboard engines.

That boat won’t the only “first’ the company unveils in Fort Lauderdale. Deep Impact also will debut new 499 center console at the show. The 49-footer is the first of its kind to be outfitted with six naturally aspirated 425-hp V-10 outboards from Mercury Marine.
