DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Delray Beach man was arrested Thursday evening in connection with a theft of nearly $2,000 from a local Dollar General store, according to police records.
The Delray Beach Police Department (DBPD) said Daniel Moritz Schwartz, 29, was taken into custody on November 6 for grand theft, a third-degree felony. The alleged incident occurred on October 27 at the Dollar General located at 902 SW 10th Street.
According to the probable cause affidavit, an employee and loss prevention officer (LPO) reported a cash drawer shortage of $1,980.85. Surveillance footage reviewed by the LPO allegedly showed Schwartz, a cook employed at the store, ringing up four separate gift card transactions totaling the missing amount.
