A trip to Deltona turned out to be incredibly lucrative for a Lauderhill resident who just cashed in a seven-figure winning ticket.
The Florida Lottery confirmed that Marcus Barfield, 38, claimed a $1 million top prize after playing the $20 Gold Rush Limited scratch-off game. Barfield purchased the lucky ticket at the Deltona Express, located at 2910 Howland Boulevard.
Barfield traveled to Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee to claim the win on August 11. When presented with the payout options, he chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $795,000.00…
