Miami-Dade deputy arrested after choking girlfriend during argument, report says

A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested Sunday after being accused of choking his girlfriend during a domestic dispute, reports say.

Vikardy Theodore, 25, is facing a domestic battery by strangulation charge after his girlfriend of six years said he “applied pressure” to her throat, impeding her breathing for 35 to 40 seconds, according to his arrest report. The deputy’s girlfriend told investigators that she and Theodore had gotten into an argument that escalated.
