A dinner date escalated from a disappointment at a restaurant to the alleged brandishing of a firearm in Boca Raton this week, landing one city man behind bars, charged with battery.
Derek Hurwitch, 41, remained lodged in the Palm Beach County Jail following his arrest Wednesday, after a woman with whom he went on a date called police to report an incident that allegedly occurred after the two had dinner.
