On a day when countless families gather to celebrate, one Florida woman is accused of pulling a gun on her own child, supposedly to discipline him. The Miami resident allegedly opened fire on her son on Christmas Day outside a well-known Red Rooster eatery, claiming she acted because he was being “disrespectful.”
Authorities have charged 50 year old Roseita Lavette Smith with aggravated battery with a weapon, causing bodily harm. She initially escaped the scene but was later apprehended. Smith was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Friday night and is being held without bond.
