FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — New details reveal the Pompano Beach man accused of killing another man inside a truck is the victim’s cousin, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies also say the victim was found dead in the bed area of a tractor-trailer with a single gunshot wound to the back of the head.
During a 3 p.m. news conference, SLCSO Sheriff Richard Del Toro revealed that the suspect, Olson Jean, was traveling with the victim, Wendy Moncion, 32, from Georgia to Florida. During the news conference, Del Torro shared that the suspect’s wife said Jean had been struggling with mental health issues and had allegedly been acting erratically.
Del Torro revealed that the cousin was traveling with Moncion to keep him company and that, following his return from Florida, they were going to seek mental health treatment. The last time Moncion was heard by his family was on Thursday, January 15, at around 6:40 p.m…
