Deerfield Beach commission votes to part ways with Broward Sheriff’s Office

The Deerfield Beach commission has voted for the city’s first responders to part ways with the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Dozens of residents spoke at the commission meeting Tuesday night, with many against leaving BSO. But ultimately, commissioners voted for parting ways and creating their own fire and police department.
