BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — Bianca R. DeSouza, the Boca Raton mother who pleaded guilty in connection with the 2022 death of her newborn son, is scheduled was sentenced on Friday in Palm Beach County court.
DeSouza, now 23, pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter of a child and child neglect with great bodily harm, charges stemming from the May 2, 2022 incident in which investigators say she delivered her baby alone in her bedroom and did not seek help as the child went into distress. According to court records, her plea agreement leaves her facing a potential prison sentence between 15 and 45 years.
