Smoke Inn Cigars has acquired the intellectual property and brand assets of Protocol Cigars. From now on, Protocol Cigars will be sold exclusively through the South Florida retailer’s online store and select retail stores. Co-founder Juan Cancel will remain with Protocol as a brand ambassador. The transaction does not include the acquisition of Cubariqueño Cigar Company, the parent company that founded Protocol Cigars.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Protocol Cigars to the Smoke Inn Cigars family,” said Smoke Inn Cigars owner Abe Dababneh in a press release. “Our focus is on supporting the brand by improving production stability and availability, so enthusiasts can confidently find the Protocol cigars they love. This acquisition is about stewardship—protecting what makes Protocol special from the story to the blends, while ensuring it remains consistently accessible to its fans.”
The blends will continue to be produced at the La Zona and San Lotano factories in Nicaragua…
