Battle continues over proposed religious bathhouse within Hollywood residential neighborhood

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — A Hollywood neighborhood battle over a proposed religious bathhouse is continuing to play out on Tuesday.

In a 4-2 vote, Hollywood’s Historic Preservation Board approved a special exception to demolish the existing home and build the new structure at 1434 Monroe St.

Terms of the approval included that the facility is to only be used for females, the structure shall have no vertical or horizontal expansion, one floor only, appointments can start at 6:30 p.m. and be no later than 10:30 p.m. for last appointment with no more than eight appointments a day.
