Man who tried to help traffic crashed truck instead, Palm Beach police say

A man who claimed he tried to move a truck without permission so cars could pass now faces a charge of vehicle theft after Palm Beach Police said he crashed the truck into a car and injured a person.

The 34-year-old Fort Lauderdale man was arrested on Valentine’s Day on a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle and released a few hours later early in the morning of Feb. 15 after from the Palm Beach County Jail on $5,000 bail, according to jail records.
