Fort Lauderdale prepares for spring breakers with new alcohol rule, free Narcan dispensers

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — To help save lives during spring break, Fort Lauderdale will have free Narcan, a medication to reverse opioid overdoses. The city also has new rules on alcohol use.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Chief Stephen W. Gollan said there were free Narcan dispensers “in areas where data show increased overall calls.”

Gollan also asked spring breakers to stay out of the water if they are not sober and not to dive into the water headfirst to avoid spinal injury…
