911 Call Leads to Arrest of Margate Woman Accused of Threatening Roommate With Knife, Spitting on Officers

A Margate woman is facing multiple felony charges after police say she threatened a man with a knife during a dispute and later spat on a law enforcement officer while in custody.

According to a Margate Police Department report, Melissa Kathryn Nesbit, 35, was taken into custody on February 26 following a disturbance at a residence located near the 300 block of Southwest 61st Avenue.

According to a complaint affidavit, officers responded to the home around 1:00 a.m. in response to a 911 call indicating Nesbit had come to the home to retrieve personal belongings but began taking items that did not belong to her, leading to an argument with other roommates…
