“I’m About to Go Over There and Blow Up the Place,”: Man Arrested for Threats Against Medical Call Center

A man was arrested after authorities say he threatened to blow up and shoot up a Tamarac medical business during a phone call about obtaining his parents’ medical records.

According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office report, Saul Vargas, 49, of Deerfield Beach, was arrested on March 11 and charged with Threat to Bomb or Discharge a Destructive Device, a second-degree felony.

Records show deputies responded on March 10 to Las Mercedes Medical Center, located at 6674 Northwest 57th Street, after receiving a report of threats made to the company’s call center. The business director told officers that an employee had received a call from a man later identified as Vargas, who was seeking copies of his parents’ medical records…
