Commissioners are voting on a measure to hire a consulting firm to study the pros and cons of bringing control of the county’s fire rescue service back from the Sheriff’s Office. Commissioner Lamar Fisher says this has nothing to do with the Broward Sheriff it’s all about saving money while providing the same level of service. BSO took over the former Broward Fire Rescue, and separate airport and port fire departments, in 2003. Most of BSO’s firefighting work is done in cities that pay for the services instead of having in-house departments…
