NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested after he stole decorative lawn gnomes from a North Fort Myers resident’s yard, according to authorities.
A woman reported that her decorative lawn gnomes had been stolen from her property on May 19, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
The victim’s Ring camera captured a man arriving at her home on a “distinctive tricycle” and taking the gnomes before leaving the area, LCSO said.
Detectives located John Ramey at a homeless encampment in North Fort Myers on June. 1, according to the sheriff’s office. Ramey was in possession of a tricycle matching the one seen in the surveillance video.
Body camera footage shows Ramey leading detectives to his campsite, where they found multiple gnomes.
Detectives confirmed the gnomes belonged to the victim and returned them to her, LCSO said…
