Family of DUI crash victim speaks out after driver sentenced

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WWSB) – More than six years after a New Year’s Eve crash claimed the life of Port Charlotte resident David Flick, his family is continuing to grieve a loss they say can never be repaired, even after the driver responsible was sentenced to prison.

Last week, 47-year-old Mark Barcia was sentenced to 18 years in state prison following his conviction on DUI manslaughter and related charges stemming from the fatal 2019 crash in North Port.
