CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
Keith and Tracy Vautherot, residents of Cape Coral, felt tremors from a 6.1-magnitude earthquake near Cuba around 2 p.m. Monday, with Keith estimating the shaking lasted 6 to 10 seconds while Tracy believed it was longer.
Keith described the moment, saying, “My wife is on the couch next to me, and all of a sudden, my chair started doing this number. And I’ve not experienced that before. And I look over at my wife, Tracy, and she goes, ‘We’re having an earthquake.’ So right away I looked on my phone, and we couldn’t see anything of anything going on anywhere. Then all of a sudden I saw Cuba had a 6.1.”…
