All tsunami alerts in the Caribbean have been cancelled following a large earthquake in northern Venezuela on Wednesday evening.
The earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.2 that prompted the tsunami concerns happened at approximately 6:04 p.m. Eastern Time. The quake’s epicenter was located about 20 miles northwest of Montalbán, Venezuela.
