Bartow Felon Gets 21 Years For Wild Lee County Foot Chase And Shootout With U.S. Marshals

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Bartow man will spend more than two decades in federal prison after turning a foot chase with federal agents into an armed confrontation.

U.S. District Judge Kyle Dudek sentenced 36-year-old Myles Andrew Strickland to 21 years and 5 months in federal prison. The sentencing comes after a federal jury found Strickland guilty on November 20, 2025, of assaulting a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon, using, carrying, and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
