SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Students in Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties return to the classroom on Monday, August 10, and drivers are being reminded that school zone speed cameras will once again be enforcing speed limits in several Suncoast communities.
The automated cameras are designed to improve safety for students, parents, crossing guards and school staff during arrival and dismissal times.
Drivers traveling more than 10 mph over the applicable speed limit while cameras are operating may receive a $100 civil citation.
