SW Florida renters, landlords react to plunging leases, rising concerns

Thousands of you had something to say after In the Know recently broke the story about Southwest Florida leading the nation in rent reductions.

The dominant theme that emerged: Leases and housing prices may be falling, but many residents still don’t see Southwest Florida as affordable. Your bottom line was a drop in rent does not automatically mean the rent is accessible or fits well within many local family budgets that have been more drastically squeezed in the record household prices of the past 20 months that we’ve been reporting.
