LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Marine deputies pulled two stranded boaters to safety on Sunday, October 18, after their boat began taking on water off the coast of Sanibel Island, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
As the vessel filled with water, the two occupants attempted to signal nearby traffic for help by firing flares, spraying fire extinguishers, and sounding the boat’s horn.
