Charlotte County Fair opens Friday

The Charlotte County Fair returns to the Charlotte County Fairgrounds, opening at 5 p.m. Jan. 26 and running through Feb. 4.

The fair features carnival rides for young fairgoers, thrill seekers and everyone in between and of course the midway where you will find carnival games and a variety of fair food including cotton candy, funnel cakes, food on sticks, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, corn dogs, French fries, ice cream and deep-fried treats.

The fair also features agriculture shows and livestock auctions with lambs, goats, steers, rabbits, hogs and more.

Students from Charlotte County schools will be showcasing their artwork at the entrance to the fair. There will also be arts and crafts competitions showcasing paintings, photography, clothing, cakes, pies and more.

The fair offers discounts and ride promotions on certain days. Parking is $5.

The fair is open noon to 11 p.m. Saturdays, noon to 10 p.m. Sundays, and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays — except Fridays with the ride promotion when you can ride all rides from 5 p.m.-1 a.m. for $25. Chaperones must be over 25 years old.
