FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Fort Myers homeowner awoke to hear sounds of popping due to his house heavy with smoke and flames early Saturday morning. Firefighters with the Fort Myers Fire Department (FMFD) responded to the house fire off Bassie Court at 1:32 a.m. Upon arrival, the home was fully engulfed in flames and smoke coming from all windows and doors.
